On October 1st, 2019, Cheatham County home builders and developers will be hit with a huge increase in impact fees. The final cost to obtain a certificate of occupancy on new construction homes will increase by $2950.
Monday nights county commissioners meeting received a motion to approve raising the county impact fee from $50 to $3,000 and to increase the adequate facilities rate from $.10 per sqft to $.50 per sqft.
As a result, the funds will go toward county roads, education and parks: $250 to roads, $2500 to education debt and $250 to county parks.
Permits purchased by Oct. 1st, 2019 will have one year to complete construction at the current rate.
